In this crowdfunded style event, the price of an attendee ticket ($30) counts as a one vote and goes to the finalist of their choice. Attendees can also choose to pay more as a direct donation to the finalists. Kintone will award the first place winner $5,000, followed by $2,500 and $1,000 for second and third place winners. Prizes for our three finalists and seven VIP runner-ups also include a year-long membership to Social Enterprise Alliance (a $350 value), Impact Group Coaching from Innov8social (a $3,500 value) and Kintone licenses to manage your impact-driven data and workflows.
The Application Process
You don’t have to be a Kintone customer or user to be considered. This competition is open to entrepreneurs, startups, and nonprofits from the Bay Area (we hope to expand to other regions in the future). We’re ideally looking for teams (at least 3 people) who are using tech to solve issues such as joblessness, homelessness, food deserts, healthcare, environmental problems and other issues within the San Francisco Bay Area. We also require all finalists attend the event on Aug. 9, 2018 at the Embarcadero WeWork Center in San Francisco in order to qualify for crowdfunded prizes.
The application consists of brief questions about your idea, project or organization, plus a 90-second introduction video telling us about yourself and your project. We won’t be judging you based on the quality of your video, so no need to produce a professional piece. In can be something as simple as pulling up a chair and hitting record on your computer or smartphone. Ideally, we want the video to give the judging committee a better sense of you who are, why you’re passionate about your project and how you would using funding if you’re a selected as a finalist.
Be sure to get your application in before the July 2, 2018 deadline. You’ll receive a confirmation email once submitted.
After You Apply
Our judging committee of internal and external Kintone stakeholders will carefully consider each and every application before choosing three finalists and up to seven VIP (Very Impactful Person) frontrunners. Three weeks before the August 9th event, we will get in touch to let you know whether or not you’ve been selected as one of three finalists qualifying for crowdfunding, or a VIP frontrunner.
